You will be given three tests related to one of the subjects you are studying. For each of the text, you should complete the Grid attached to show that you fully understand what you have read.

The grid will ask you to think about the following questions:

1. What are the main points of the text? Provide a summary( AC2.2)
2. What is the explicit meaning g of this text?  What is its purpose? (AC 1.1, 2.1)
3. Is the any implicit meaning in the text? Explain and provide examples from the text to support your points. (AC 1.1, 2.1)
4. Considering the purpose of the text that you have identified, how effective has the author’s chosen form and style been able to achieve this purpose?  In your evaluation, consider how the author has used implicit meaning, the form chosen by the author(eg poem, article), tone and the style use by the author (AC3.1) .
5.  How does the specific social, historical or cultural context of this text affect your understanding of the meaning of the text?  Provide examples from the text to support your points. (AC 4.1)

 

EACH TEXT WILL MAKE UP 500-600 WORDS…SO FOR THE 3 TEXTS( NOVEL, article and poem) it will be 1500 to 1800 in total or perhaps 2000 in maximum..

The 5 questions above is what we needed to answer for each task. The tutor said that question 4 and 5, especially 5 has to be detailed, probably 300 words out of 500/ 600 words of that particular text.
