elderly patients

Elderly Patients I have heard this statement from several elderly patients who have now been let go from their general practitioner (primary care physician) because he/she has decided not to take Medicare reimbursement anymore.  The patients are livid and the physicians are remorseful over their decision. Why are these “gatekeeper” doctors refusing Medicare patients anymore?
