This last assignment is worth 40% of your mark. The purpose of the assignment is to give the opportunity to students to learn a certain topic based on the tools developed and discussed in lectures and workshops, following their preferred references.

The marking will be based on the following considerations :

• the embedding of your investigation in the context of the entire course, i.e. to describe the relation of your project with the main logic and facts presented in lectures and workshops
• a proper structure of the written report : title, sharp abstract, proper introduction, main body describing the basic required tools and results, a summary of conclusions and open questions that your investigation led you to ask + references
• economy and quality of arguments are preferred over longer presentations

To ensure the sharpness condition, please use the RevTex file provided in LEARN and do not go over the page limit of 5 pages (including references, pictures & diagrams). If you decide that it is indispensable for your project to provide further supplementary material, such as more technical details and/or longer proofs, you may consider including appendices. These should not go over 2 extra pages. Both bounds are upper bounds, i.e. shorter reports can achieve excellent marks if they satisfy the above requirements.See additional materials for further instructions and references.
