Psychoanalytic theory vs. Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) theory

Write a research paper providing a structured overview of the the literature concerning two theories selected from those discussed in class.

The paper must cover the formation of each theory, the basic tenets and philosophy of each theory, and the strengths, weaknesses and potential applications of each theory.

This research paper must have a title page, an abstract containing 150-250 words. The paper must be in APA format, 10-14 pages in length, and have at least 8 references. There should be at least 4 references for each theory.

You must have a clear introduction and conclusion for each theory. Please make sure you have headers before each paragraph with titles such as; Introduction of Psychoanalytic Therapy, Formation, Basic tenants and philosophy, strengths and weaknesses, potential applications.

You may complete the paper in either two formats: 1) Do a complete compare and contrast paper of the two theories or 2) Complete one theory and than move on to the next theory. So in other words (Into – Body – Conclusion ——> Intro-Body-Conclusion). For this one you are basically doing two papers but just make sure your introduction and conclusion are strong.

Please follow the attached rubric. It is mandatory and if not followed correctly points will be deducted. All references should be peer-reviewed articles. I have attached some articles and will also provide the book as a reference for you to use.
