Power of development

Description Alternative Thinking PowerPoint/Prezi (10%) Students will be responsible for developing a 15 – 20 slide power point presentation in which he/she/they will select an author from the text and provide an overview of the major points made by the author. Additionally, the student will research opposing/different viewpoints from an outside author. After examining the two perspectives, the student will offer his/her/their  own thought regarding ways to ‘rethink’ the US criminal justice system. This project is 10% of the final grade. Below are instructions for the power point lay out. o Title Slide with student name, name of this course, title of presentation, and my name o An Introductory slide that provides a preview of what the presentation will cover o 3 – 5 slides that highlight the major points made by the selected author. o 3 – 5 slides that provide an overview of an opposing/different perspective from an outside scholar. o 3 – 5 slides that offer a fresh perspective regarding ways to improve/reform/the US criminal justice system that is built from the two schools of thought presented o A Conclusion slide that summarizes the presentation and provides highlights of the student’s perspective and shows how it is connected to the other schools of thoughts presented o A Reference Slide (do not enumerate or bullet references.
