Accountability and AHRQ Professional accountability is the responsibility of every nurse. Accountability in healthcare is the moral, ethical and legal commitment. Nurses are accountable for providing the best possible care for their patient. In other words, the nurse is responsible for her actions and its outcomes.

Heparin prophylaxis is highly recommended by physicians. Surgical patients also have a greater risk of thromboembolism during the perioperative period because patient is less active. Early ambulation, usage of anti embolic stockings, sequential compression devices are nursing accountability to prevent embolism.

Hand washing is the most effective way to prevent the spread of diseases and sepsis. All health care providers are accountable for doing that. By giving a movie ticket to the best hand-washing person every month and publishing their names in the e-mail, our hospital encourages employees to wash their hands quite often.
Accountability of Nursing Professionals gel and cameras are placed outside each room and monitored. This is a great way of patient safety practice. Proper techniques used for central line placement will also help the patient.
