In this paper you are expected to accomplish two equally important tasks:
1. Present an analysis of Rancière’s understanding of politics. Specifically, show an engagement with Rancière’s core argument in Disagreement through an analysis of such major concepts as politics, police, equality, the part of no part, and democracy. These are required concepts,

Using your understanding of Rancière’s argument, select a significant recent event that you think can be interpreted as an event of politics. please select a significant event that has been presented as an event of politics (in more traditional sense) and argue whether this event can be legitimately seen as truly political (from Rancière’s perspective). If you decide to argue that the selected event is not truly political, then please offer some suggestions about how one might reimagine this event in terms of politics. That is, what would one need to do to turn this inauthentic political event into real political event?
