Hard work has been the main reason for success throughout history. Inventors, sinentest and leaders are examples of successful workers who scarify a lot of things in order to privilege. Some people claim that hard work is the only means to success and luck has nothing to do with it, while others say that luck is a main factor for successes.

I believe that hard work is a very important factor for success and the hard luck is a secondary reason we must not rely on. Brandau (2002) claims that It is easy to be scared of real work. Thomas Edison, American inventor said, “Opportunity is missed by most people because it is dressed in overalls and looks like work. What is your opinion on the matter?

Do you believe that success is in “the luck of the draw”? What about actors or actresses? Do you agree that they have gained their successes through luck or did they have to work hard to succeed? For example, look at comedian Tim Allen who in one week ranked number one for his: television series “Home Improvement”, book “Don’t Stand Too Close to a Naked Man”, and film

“The Santa Clause”. One would assume that Mr. Allen was a lucky man but in actuality the man has struggled and worked hard to get where he is today.

Tim Allen, born in 1953 in Colorado, was brought up in a household with six other siblings. At the young age of eleven, Tim’s father was sadly killed by a drunk driver, leaving Tim to grow up in sadness, emptiness and hatred towards the world he lived in.

He later on found that humour filled the “gap” of emptiness and concealed the pain and therefore pursued a career in entertainment.

When humor was not enough to alleviate the pain he turned a lifestyle of binge drinking and using drugs. In1978 he was arrested and spent 2 years in jail for selling drugs in Kalamazoo-Battle Creek International Airport.

When Tim was released from jail he regained his attention and admiration towards humor and started focusing on stand-up comedy. He later on…………………..
