It is important for a management team to share responsibility so as to ensure that work flows smoothly, this we found out in our group.  Delegation is necessary so as to make sure that each member of the group feels wanted and that their contributions are recognized.

However, not all members of are willing to share responsibility as they feel that letting go of some duties will not lead to the desired outcome. Some do delegate but feel the need to control which in turn makes other members of the group uncomfortable seeing that they cannot be trusted with simple tasks.

At other times, management fails to share responsibility since they are reluctant to share vital information regarding the organization with other members. However, management can evaluate the ability of deputies to keep information given to them confidential by looking at their levels of self-control.

The ability of an individual to restrain themselves from giving security information to unauthorized parties is vital in such a group. People with little self-control tend to make decisions faster than those with high self-control (Hu et al. 2014, p.28). It is important that the members of the group take time before making decisions regarding an organization’s security information as this would lead to long-term consequences.

Management should look at the organization’s long-term goals while deciding to share responsibility; this is because members of the group only get better at handling responsibilities and providing quality deliverables.

Learning to share responsibility is also essential for a management team since it gives more time for the management to delve in other duties also vital to the organization.

It also motivates members of a group to work hard once they realize that they are actively involved in meeting the various objectives.

Though members of a group are driven by shared responsibility, it is important for management to ensure that all the members are aware of all information security threats and concerns.

All team members should be well aware of their responsibilities and liabilities when it comes to information dissemination.
