The purpose of this assignment, which is required, is for students to select a topic for use in the Policy Analysis assignment (WA5), and to have it approved by the mentor. Evaluation of this activity will be included in the grade evaluation for WA #5 (Policy Analysis).

Directions
Review the rubric for WA #5, Policy Analysis, before selecting your topic/bill.
Select a legislative bill, either Federal or State, which you intend to analyze in written assignment #5. Be sure the bill you choose is significant enough. and that there is sufficient supporting literature to support the requirements of WA #5.
The topic can be: a particular health issue not yet a policy;
a policy in debate;
a policy in place that requires modification; or
simply a policy that can be evaluated from a different perspective.

The focus of the paper will be on the role of nursing and nurses in the health policy arena.
