The Literature Review Paper will include brief summaries

The Literature Review Paper will include brief summaries of the 6 to 8 articles focused on a topic in common retrieved from the Online Library. If you need to include more articles to meet the 10-12 page length, you may do so as long as the articles come from the library and are no more than 10 years old (so only articles published between 2006-2016 are acceptable). The articles must come from psychology journals, so don’t use articles that are from other professions such as medicine, law, business, or other professions even if they do come from the library. You must include the DOI numbers (as applicable). Like the week two and four assignments, any articles you choose to include for this literature review paper must be experiments themselves and can not be articles that solely summarize other researchers’ work like a book report or summary/collection of previous studies. The summaries in this paper must be logically connected with clear articulations of how they are related to one another. This must be done via transition statements between descriptions of the various summaries such that the paper interweaves all the articles into a coherent and well-articulated review of scholarly publications related to the selected paper topic focus. For example, after one article summary, the statements, “Related research conducted by Jones (2011) showed that…” or “Contrary to what Jones (2011) found, an article by Parton (2013) demonstrated…” would be an effective means of connecting it to another summary. The paper will end with a minimum of two paragraphs summarizing points made and articulating suggestions for original future research directions arising from the article reviews.
FORMAT: When writing the literature review paper, it must be done by reviewing article #1, then having a transition sentence (or sentences) which lead into a complete review of article #2, then having a transition sentence (or sentences) which lead into a complete review of article #3, and so forth until all of your articles have been reviewed. DO NOT format your paper where you chunk topics together (that is, writing a section about “treatment” that includes data from three or four different articles, then writing a section about “risk factors” that includes data from multiple articles). Instead of a typical paper that has a format of “topic one” followed by “topic two” and “topic three”, you must follow the format of “article #1” followed by “article #2” and “article #3” and so forth. If you do any “back and forth” or chunking of topics (as opposed to chunking of articles), points will be deducted. Don’t forget to wrap it up with a minimum of two paragraphs summarizing points made and articulating suggestions for future research directions arising from the article reviews. Do not reiterate what the articles suggest for future research, instead come up with your own original ideas for future research about the topic you selected.

This assignment submission will be evaluated based on:

The degree to which the article summaries are related and truly integrated within the paper; lack of supporting evidence of actual connections between the articles will result in a significant point deduction.

Evidence of academically mature insight and use of critical thinking skills in analyzing and relating the articles.

Clear and thorough articulation of the paper’s key points.

Compliance with APA paper formatting standards.

You may not reuse or recycle a paper, in whole or part, that was previously submitted to another APU class.
