Qualitative research gives an invaluable viewpoint that focuses on participants own individual points of view and experiences. Unlike quantitative examination, qualitative study variables cannot be changed to enter into a theory or hypothesis (Parahoo, 2014).This critique reviews a qualitative study based upon palliative care and how it assists patients with deadly illnesses to meet spiritual and emotional needs. It has also covered the psychological impact to the patients’ family. The critique used eight criteria to examine the qualitative study. The rules incorporate the identification of the problem, the review of the literature, purpose and question of the study,the conceptual framework, the choice  of the sample size and the study outline,  strategies for  collecting the data, data analysis and research findings. In an article by Gelfman, Du & Morrison (2013) qualitative study was performed to determine the impact of hospital palliative care procedures on the relatives of patients with deadly illnesses.

Palliative care has customarily been considered an administration for those in hospice care; however hospitals are currently providing this administration to patients who are encountering serious diseases. The program tends to reduce the severity of the disease than to cure it. Palliative care is useful in providing comfort or improves the patients’ life. Since palliative care services are new to caring centre, little research has been conducted to determine whether the patient families feel as if the service were useful. Gelfman et al. (2013) conducted an exploration to figure out whether palliative care benefits in hospitals enhanced the quality of care over relatives who had died in a substantial scholarly clinic in New York.  past research with  respect to palliative care  services have reported  relatives engaged in the  care process had more  improved patient and family satisfactions, favorable dying experiences and reduced cost and length  of stay. The current research inspected the numerous facets involved in healthcare and more particularly when palliative care is under consideration.  The study planned to  take  a  gander at how spiritual needs were taken care of, how relatives physiological and emotional needs addressed and the relatives self efficacy while taking care of their loved ones. Palliative care  could be of extraordinary benefit to health care and nursing as family  members and  patients  who access this service report higher fulfillment.
